The official Shonen Jump website has listed a 27th volume for the Dr. Stone manga series. The mentioned volume is expected to be released in Japan on April 4. No info has been given about the contents of the upcoming volume as of press time.
The manga series created by Boichi and Eyeshield 21 creator Riichiro Inagaki published the Dr. Stone manga series in March 2017 and was released regularly in the Weekly Shonen Jump. It entered its final arc in September 2021 and concluded in March 2022.
The manga’s popularity has expanded into an anime adaptation that premiered in July 2019. The first season was streamed by Crunchyroll in Japanese with English subtitles and Funimation streamed the anime in English dub. The anime’s second season, titled as Dr. Stone: Stone Wars premiered in January 21, 2021. Crunchyroll also streamed the second season with Funimation streaming the English dub. A one-hour anime special titled Dr. Stone: Ryusui premiered in July 2022.
Dr. Stone: New World premiered in Japan in April 2023 with the first cours ended on episode 11. Crunchyroll also streamed the anime both in Japanese and in English dub. Toonami began airing the anime in June 2023.
A three-chapter spinoff manga called titled Dr. Stone 4D Science was published in the in the Weekly Shonen Jump on November 26 and concluded on December 24. Both the manga and spin-off series are published in English by VIZ Media and also available for digital reading on the MANGA Plus app.
VIZ Media describes the story of Dr. Stone as follows:
“One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he’s not alone! His science-loving friend Senku’s been up and running for a few months and he’s got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!”
