Sequel Anime Great Pretender razbliuto to be Streamed in Crunchyroll on February 22

It was announced on the anime streaming platform Crunchyroll on Wednesday that it will be streaming the sequel anime Great Pretender razbliuto beginning on Thursday, February 22 at 8pm EST.

The anime can be streamed worldwide except for the Middle East Region and Japan. The anime will premiere and stream exclusively in Japan on Friday, 24:00 JST (12 midnight JST) via the streaming service DMM TV.

The anime was previously screened in North America cinemas on January 9 to 10. In a latest report by ANN, the upcoming Great Pretender razbliuto “centers on Dorothy, a gifted swindler, who is supposedly dead after losing a game with a Shanghai organization. She finds herself in a small town in Taipei, without any memory of her past. Chased by Taipei’s black society, Dorothy heads to Kyoto, but there, something awaits her too.”

Dorothy will be voiced by Yuka Komatsu, Jei will be voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi, Ai will be voiced by Yasuhiro Mamiya, Lin will be voiced by Kazuyuki Okitsu, Wan will be voiced by Yasuruki Kase, Sai will be voiced by Mitsuaki Kanuka, and Bin will be voiced by Mariya Ise.

Majority of the staff from the previous anime will be returning to produce the sequel anime. Hiro Kaburagi will be directing the anime along with Taku Kishimoto who will be head of series composition. Ryota Kosawa will be the anime’s script supervisor. Mai Teshima is credited as assistant director. The anime’s chief animation director is Shosuke Ishibashi, replacing Kyoji Asano. Other staff returning to work on the anime are Hirotaka Kato (for chief animation direction), air director Yumiko Sudou, and art director Yusuke Takeda.

The first Great Pretender anime premiered in Japan on Fuji TV’s +Ultra programming block in July 2020 and ran for two cours with a total of 23 episodes. It was also streamed worldwide via Netflix. A manga adaptation of the series was released in June 2020 on Mag Comi website and the LINE Manga service. The manga is illustrated by Daichi Marui but due to poor health, the manga went on hiatus in September 2020.
