The Skip & Loafer anime’s official Twitter account has revealed an April 2023 premiere date, confirmed three new cast members and shared a key image created by Misaki Takamatsu.
Takamatsu also revealed a poster showcasing the lead characters to commemorate the announcement and publication of the eighth manga volume, along with further cast details. The anime is being animated by P.A. Works. In June 2022, the anime’s first trailer was released.

Skip and Loafer Anime Plot
Iwakura Mitsumi graduated from a small rural middle school and was admitted at the top of her class to a prestigious high school in Tokyo. This young genius is intelligent and achieves high academic standards, but her social awareness isn’t quite on par with that of others.
She went to Tokyo alone with a great life plan. This implies that she occasionally makes errors, but her laid-back demeanor gradually influences her pupils, and before they realize it, all of their unique personalities are merging together. They meet, get to know one another through time, and soon have a good understanding of one another.
Everyone has repressed emotions and disappointments, but our friends are the ones that offer us an opportunity to understand one another. This narrative may begin with some strife, but before you realize it, it turns into a joyful comedy about school life!
Cast, Key Visual, and Trailer of the Anime
Yuka Teramasa, Maaya Uchida, and Megumi Han are the latest cast members joining the anime version of the romantic-comedy Skip & Loafer. They will play Mika Egashira, Yuzuki Muradhige, and Makoto Kurume, respectively. Tomoyo Kurosawa plays Mitsumi Iwakura and Akinori Egoshi plays Sosuke Shima in the cast, which was previously revealed.
Also on Twitter, a key visual that showed Mitsumi and Sosuke side by side was made public.
Soon after the release of a new key visual and character additions on Sunday, a fresh teaser for the upcoming Skip and Loafer anime series was shown on Monday which is shown below.
Skip and Loafer Release Date
The romantic comedy manga created and drawn by Misaki Takamatsu served as the inspiration for the anime. In 2018, Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine published its first edition of it.
Following that, Seven Seas Entertainment released its sixth volume in English last year in print and digital form. As Skip & Loafer received several nominations for prizes in 2020, its appeal to male fans grew.
As for the Anime, Kotomi Deai, who previously worked on Natsume’s Book of Friends, directed the series Skip & Loafer. The anime’s director of animation and character designer is Manami Umeshita, whose works include High School Division Class C3 and Stella Women’s Academy.
The soundtrack is being composed by Takatsugu Wakabayashi (Dragon Ball Super and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders). The anime will be shown on Crunchyroll when it debuts in April 2023.
