Hells Paradise: Jigokuraku is the newest anime series announced by MAPPA studio, the series was confirmed to be released in 2023, although information regarding the release date still needs to be announced.
The official announcement came from the Twitter account and website along with information regarding the production studio, the series’ director/supervisor, and a few other key staff members.
The Jigokuraru official website also released the main Key Visual for the series along with a trailer and the list of characters.

The official key visual featured the two main characters, Gabimaru in the reflection of an extremely shaped blade and Sagiri Yamada Asaemon, like the one holding the said blade.
The series was listed to be extremely violent with lots of action, and plenty of gore, and this key visual gives it the exact vibe.
The official list of the characters in Hells Paradise: Jigokuraku was revealed; however, their voice actors are yet to be announced.
The list of characters includes Gabimaru and Sagiri Yamada Asaemon are the main characters, and the supporting characters are Yuzuriha, Shion Yamada Asaemon, Choubei Aza, and Fuchi Yamada Asaemon.
So far the only staff members revealed are Kaori Makita as the series’ director, Yoshiaki Dewa as the music producer, Yuuji Kaku as the original creator, and Akira Kindaichi in charge of series’ composition.

I don’t think anyone is surprised by how amazing the trailer is, the animation studio is MAPPA, of course, the animation quality is going to be top-notch.
Something you’ve noticed is the trailer gives off a somewhat similar vibe to Demon Slayer and that’s because the show is based on a similar plot, hunting demons and protecting people.
Not the mention the animation quality of every scene shown in the trailer is enough to make you interested, the show is filled with action-packed scenes with gorgeous animation that will encompass the whole thing beautifully.
The plot of Hells Paradise: Jigokuraku
The series follows Gabimaru the Hollow, he’s known for being emotionless and cold. Due to his recent failures as an assassin, he’s on death row.
However, there is no method that works for him, he refuses to die because he wants to be reunited with his wife once more.
Part of the reason why he failed as an assassin was because he was trying to change for his wife.
Sagiri Asaemon, the decapitator offers him a choice to be forgiven by the Shogunate, he is required to join an expedition on an island south of Japan and eliminate any threat that lurks there. And to no one’s surprise, he accepts.

Hell’s Paradise is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kaku Yuji, the series began its serialization in January 2018 in Shonen Jump+ magazine. The series currently has 13 volumes and 127 chapters in circulation by Shueisha.
An anime adaptation was recently announced by Mappa Studio.
