The Neptunia series, also known as the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, is a collection of Japanese role-playing video games developed by Idea Factory and Compile Heart. The series is set in the fictional universe of Gamindustri, which is divided into four regions representing different video game consoles. The games feature anthropomorphic characters representing video game consoles and companies, engaging in various adventures and battles.

The series debuted with Hyperdimension Neptunia in 2010 for the PlayStation 3. It introduced the main protagonist, Neptune, who represents the canceled Sega Neptune console. The game’s narrative revolves around Neptune’s journey to save Gamindustri from evil forces.

Since its inception, the Neptunia series has expanded with numerous sequels, spin-offs, and remakes across multiple platforms, including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Microsoft Windows. Each installment explores different aspects of Gamindustri while incorporating elements of parody, humor, and references to video game culture and industry trends.
