A silver weapon’s “Silver Aura” freezes a dragon’s blood, effectively killing it. The alternative would be to chop them down with a silver sword and sunburn their bodies. These are the two surefire methods of dispatching a dragon.
In a world overrun by dragons, a young man named Ragna spends his days plotting revenge on the monarchs. Dragons murdered his parents and everyone who cared for him as he grew up, a tragic affair really. Because of these circumstances, his community believes a curse follows him. He is considered a ‘dragon lure’.
Ragna raged and bore the weapons for his vengeance, but he was never particularly skilled at dragon hunting. When he was in trouble, an unrivaled dragon hunter came to his aid. Leonica was the name. Ragna saw his chance at vengeance through her abilities and decided to stick with her. He wanted to be as useful as possible until he got what he desired.
After a while, he had visions that revealed that his parasitic lifestyle meant he was useless in battle and endangered his savior. The visions were particularly gruesome. Ragna realized they could be prophetic visions and resolved to become stronger than he was in order to protect Leonica.
The visions turn out to be partly true and the party suffered an attack from the deadliest dragon imaginable. Will Ragna be able to save Leonica?
The Staff and Cast Behind the Anime
Only three Ragna Crimson anime characters have been introduced so far in this, and yet they appear to be a promising lot. The anime’s main characters are as follows:
- Chiaki Kobayashi (Hiroto in Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise) as Ragna
- Ayumu Murase (Shoyo in Haikyu!!) as Crimson
- Inori Minase (Rem in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World) as Leonica
Silver Link Studios, the production company behind hits such as My Next Life as a Villainess, The Misfit of the Demon Academy, Bofuri, and many others, is also behind this new series. Ken Takahashi directed the anime, Deco Akao wrote and supervised the series composition, and Shinpei Aoki designed the characters.
Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for distribution outside of Asia, as announced at the Anime Expo 2022.
The Expected Release Date
The official Channels announced on March 19, 2022, that Ragna Crimson’s manga will receive an anime television series adaptation.
The anime series will premiere in 2023 and will be available in Japan, the United States, and other countries. Fans are looking forward to the series’ release and are sure to be captivated by the intense battles, distinct style, and memorable characters.

About Ragna Crimson’s Manga
Daiki Kobayashi wrote and illustrated the Japanese manga series Ragna Crimson (Raguna Kurimuzon). Since March 2017, it has serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker, with chapters collected into eleven tankōbon volumes as of August 2022.
An announcement came through in March of 2022 that the manga would enter its final arc with the 11th volume.
