Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes stems from the famous old game Suikoden. Yoshitaka Murayama leads the development of the game. He was also behind the creation of the legendary Suikoden and Suikoden II. Unfortunately, he left Konami before the sequel Suikoden III was released.

Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes Key Features

As the predecessor of Suikoden, Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes offers a vast world that can be explored through the story. The visual of the game uses nostalgic pixel-based characters that remind Suikoden. However, it has a vibrant 3D environment. Even though the difference makes it contrast, the pixel art doesn’t make the movement clunky. That’s what makes this game unique.

Aside from the graphics, the trailer also introduces several key features inside the game. They include:

Countless Ways of Fight

With over 100 playable characters, of course, this mechanic matters a lot. Imagine if they only apply individual skills among the characters. How dull it will be. That’s why, the developer created a unique game mechanic where you can build a combo with allies.

Not only that, there will be character relationships boon if you make a combo with certain characters. Moreover, you can exploit the terrain to your advantage. So, just watch out for several different walkthroughs of Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes because each strategy is unique to itself.

War Mode

More or less, this system is almost the same as Fire Emblem. You can command the legion of soldiers to your liking. Each platoon will have a commander who can use skills to gain an advantage in action-packed war battles. The game also offers dynamic conversations depending on who you are against.

Home Sweet Home

In a nutshell, your heroes will have headquarters. But, it is closer to a town rather than a building. Your duty here is to revitalize the town destroyed by war. You can add pastures, fields, and facilities to the town. To do so, you will need help from allies that specialize in town development. However, it isn’t clear what advantage we will get when the town is fully restored.

Mini – Games

Not only fighting, but Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes also offers several minigames. So far, there are five minigames revealed. They include bayblade, fishing, cooking management, card game, and horse racing. But, the trailer could imply there are more coming.

Conclusion

Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes is a great upcoming RPG game that revives the concept of Suikoden. When all games race for more realistic visuals, the game offers nostalgic pixel character design. That’s what makes this game worth waiting for.

If you’re a fan of Suikoden, you should know that the story of the game will be epic. With Yoshitaka Murayama as the head director, there is a chance that this game will win several awards for next year.

But, with such an ambitious game with several features, will it surpass the success of Suikoden? Or will it be a failure because it seems outdated? Well, to know this, let’s wait for the upcoming release. Just stay tuned for more game, anime & manga news in Animefleek!
