On the Pokemon Presents stream on Tuesday (February 27 is Pokemon Day), The Pokemon Company International officially announced the upcoming game Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket to be released this year for iOS and Android devices.
This is an official collaboration with TCG creator Creatures, Inc., The Pokemon Company, and DeNA.

The upcoming app will let players open two free digital booster packs for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) everyday. Players can also collect digital cards based on the real life cards as well as new ones that are exclusive to the app. Am “immersive cards” feature will have special illustrated looks at the world within the art. Streamlined rules in the card battles will also be implemented.
The new free-to-play online app for iOS, PC, Mac, and Android titled Pokemon Trading Card Live was officially launched outside of its beta version in June 2023. The beta for the game made its debut in Canada in February 2022. Its soft launch for mobile devices, PC, and Mac for Canada and globally was delayed from 2021 to 22. The game was finally released worldwide in November 2022.
In this app, players are able to add new card by scanning code cards, buying in game booster packs, and completing quests daily. They can also create and build deck and play against others from around the world. Accessories and avatar customization can also be done.
The Pokemon Trading Card Game Online app was released in 2011 for the web browser and it is free-to-play. It was then released as an app for the PC and Mac in 2014 and on Android devices in 2016. In this app, players can load all of their card collection and progress. Other features include player-vs-computer and player-vs-player online battles. Deck building, card trading and, Pokemon TCG tutorial, and avatar customization. The however officially ended its service in June 2023.
Other Pokemon Games
Aside from this announcement, The Pokemon Company International officially announced the upcoming game for the Nintendo Switch titled Pokemon Legends Z-A to be launched in 2025.
The trailer shows an urban development plan of Lumoise City, which is “a vision of beautiful coexistence between people and Pokémon.” The city is located I nthe Kalos region in the original Pokemon X/Y games released for the Nintendo 3Ds years ago. The game’s new logo which features the letters “Z-A” matches the colors of the sixth generation legendary Pokemon Zygarde. The way the game is teased in the trailer was similar to the Pokemon Legends: Arceus game featured the history of the Sinnoh region in the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl games.
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y was released for the Nintendo 3DS in October 2013 worldwide. It is so far the only games in the series that never received a third version or direct sequel in the latest Nintendo consoles. Fans had mixed opinions over this and hoping that a direct sequel for the game will finally be released after Z-A.
The Pokemon Legends: Arceus was released in January 2022 for the Nintendo Switch. The game takes you into the Hisui region, which is the passed version of the Sinnoh region from the original Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl games. In this edition of the game, players are able to ride Pokemon, create items, and will be vulnerable to Pokemon attacks while exploring around the feed. This is also the version of the Pokemon game franchise where players are introduced to the photography function as well as trainer customization.
