Fans had mixed opinions over this and hoping that a direct sequel for the game will finally be released after Z-A.

The Pokemon Legends: Arceus was released in January 2022 for the Nintendo Switch. The game takes you into the Hisui region, which is the passed version of the Sinnoh region from the original Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl games. In this edition of the game, players are able to ride Pokemon, create items, and will be vulnerable to Pokemon attacks while exploring around the feed. This is also the version of the Pokemon game franchise where players are introduced to the photography function as well as trainer customization.

The Pokemon video game series began with the releases of Pokemon Red and Green for the Nintendo Game Boy in 1996. Pokemon Blue was also released the same year. This then expanded to multiple sequels and games under the franchise.
