Call of the Night is undoubtedly the most popular vampire anime in 2022. After watching the first season which is full of captivating visuals and hilarious moments, many fans are wondering, when can they watch Call of the Night season 2?
Below, we’ve gathered the information surrounding the anime series. Will there be a second season? Will the cast reprise their role? How many source materials are left? Well, let’s go straight to the details. Read on!
Call of the Night Season 2 Release Date
Unfortunately, the second season of Call of the Night isn’t confirmed. Even when the the show showered with a high applause, the official still doesn’t seem to plan the second season soon. But, we can expect another anime adaptation for the series because the manga counterparts are still updating till now.
Currently, Shogakukan has released eighteen volumes of Call of the Night in Japan. Meanwhile, Viz Media just released the fourteenth volume in English. Later, the fifteenth volume is set to be released on March 12, 2024.
Maybe you’re still wondering, what is the chance this series will get a second season? Well, honestly, we don’t know. But, based on the status of social media X, the account is still alive while reposting the latest events and whatnot. Furthermore, the series was present in AnimagiC 2023 in Germany.
Though we won’t have the anime adaptation news dropping off soon, we can still put our hope for another great season of Call of the Night. As soon as the news comes in, we will immediately share it with you.
Call of the Night Season 2 Cast
Well, it’s pretty unusual for the anime adaptation to have a different cast for the next season. Unless there are some big incidents such as death or scandal, most of the VA will likely reprise their own role. Currently, there are five main characters in the series including:
- Gen Sato as Ko Yamori
- Sora Amamiya as Nazuna Nanakusa
- Miyuki Sawashiro as Anko Uguisu
- Haruka TOmatsu as Seri Kikyo
- Eri Kitamura as Nico Harata
The cast list above is at least nearly impossible to replace. On the other hand, we can’t say the same for the staff who will work on the supposed upcoming season. Sure, we might be grateful if Liden Films will also take the second season.
However, it isn’t unusual in the anime industry to have different studios for different seasons even if its popularity is off the chart. Just like how Attack on Titan switched studios from Wit Studio to MAPPA. But, for what it’s all worth, we can only wish that the second season will at least have the same quality as the first season.
Story of Call of The Night
Ko Yamori is an average middle school student who struggles to understand the concept of love. Because he doesn’t want to surrender what we call the norm, he decides to stop going to school. Suffering from insomnia because of his idleness, he often takes a walk in the middle of the night.
One night, a mysterious girl named Nazuna Nanakusa comes to greet him. She believes that people stay awake during midnight because they are dissatisfied with how they spend their day. Thus, she offers Ko a solution to his sleep issues and invites him over to her place. There, Nazuna convinces him to share a futon with her. Feeling uncomfortable, he pretends to doze off. However, at that moment, Nazuna bites his neck, revealing herself as a vampire.
While Ko thinks that he will turn into a vampire, the requirements for that to happen aren’t that simple. In order to change, he must be bitten by someone he truly loves. Tired of his daily life, Ko Yamori set a new goal for himself: he will fall in love with Nazuna and become a vampire!
It is no doubt that Call of the Night is one of the best vampire romances ever created. With a simple yet deep story and unique design attached, it is no wonder many fans are eager to wait for another anime adaptation of the series.
However, the Call of the Night season 2’s official announcement is still TBA. Neither the official nor the original author, Kotoyama, hinted at the second season of the anime adaptation. What we can do for now is to wait patiently for good news.
Moreover, based on the community, the story will be more intriguing in the second season based on the source material. Maybe the main reason is Michiko Yokote, the scriptwriter, needs to plan it thoroughly to avoid a mistake during the second season. Well, if there are further anime updates, Animefleek will inform you thoroughly. So, just stay tuned with us!
