The second season of How Not to Summon a Demon Lord was not as good as the previous season. It was undoubtedly a worthy sequel to an amazing ecchi anime series, even though it left the fans unsatisfied.

How Not to Summon a Demon Lord season 3 seems like a long shot because season 2 did not perform very well. Talking about the anime success, it was slow and dull compared to the first season. It was almost as if the anime followed a side story instead of the actual plot.

Season 2 only received ten episodes instead of the regular 12, which quite easily means that the budget for the show was less than enough, and the fights were poorly animated.

It was almost as if the Japanese Animation studio, Tezuka Productions knew that show was going to be bad. so they tried to save the budget as much as possible.

Unless season 2 performs really well and outsells its competitors, it is highly unlikely that we’ll receive a sequel.

Why did the studio change?

More often in the case of anime production, the change in the studio means that the author has decided to go with another studio to improve the quality of the series further, and sometimes, it means the series did not perform well, and the studio has decided to drop it completely. And the latter is more likely for How Not to Summon a Demon Lord.

Studio Ajia-Do animated the first season of the series in July 2018, and they have moved on to other amazing series, such as Ascendance of the Bookwork season 3 and Kemono Jihen.

The sequel of the series was animated by Tezuka Productions and Okuruto Noboru, with Kuwahara Satoshi (Dororo, Quintessential Quintuplet) as the director. And the series only got ten episodes.

Season 2 of How Not to Summon a Demon Lord did not follow the pacing of the series and skipped over quite a few chapters from volume. They skipped over the character development plots and introduced villains that were still too far in the manga and even defeated them. So, they didn’t follow the manga series and the Light Novel Volume exactly.

They tried to wrap up the series, which means they don’t intend on giving us a sequel.
