Kaiju No. 8 Release Date Has Been Announced

Kaiju No.8 is an action, horror anime series set to premiere in the year 2024. Production I.G. will produce the anime and further information regarding Kaiju no. 8 release date will be out sometime soon.

The anime announcement came on December 15th on the official Twitter account of Kaiju No. 8 along with information regarding the production studio along with a teaser Promotional Video.

The series already has a key visual that came out earlier in August. The information regarding the anime cast and official list of staff members is yet to be up.

The key visual featured the main character, Kafka Hibino in his Kaiju appearance, launching as a terrifying attack. The character designs looks fantastic, and speaks a lot about the quality of the upcoming series.

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any announcement regards to the cast members for the series. However, the higher ups updated us with the list of main characters as Kafka Hibino, Reno Ichikawa, and Mina Ashiro.

The plot of Kaiju No. 8

In a world where Godzilla-like monsters appear around Japan and destroy cities, there is a highly trained group of elite military soldiers famous as the Defense Corps who risk their lives to protect civilians. And once a Kaiju’s death, a group of sweepers gets the task to clean up its remains.

Our protagonist, Kafka Hibino is 32 years old and he desires to one day join the military corp and eradicate these monsters instead of working as a sweeper under the Kaiju Cleaner organization.

After failing his multiple attempts to join the military, he decides to take the job as a cleaner to pay the bills; however, after a young cleaner by the name of Reno Ichikawa joins, his passion for joining the military emerges once more.

After following a series of unfortunate events, Kafka comes across a strange-looking parasitic Kaiju who finds his way inside Kafka’s mouth and turns him into a humanoid monster. Kafka then uses his newfound power to chase his dream of eliminating monsters.

Kaiju No. 8, also known as Monster# 8is a Japanese hit manga written and illustrated by Matsumoto Naoya, the series began its serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website and software on July 2020.

As of right now, the series has eight tankobon volumes available. Viz Media licensed the English release of the series. Production I.G will animate the upcoming anime adaptation which is set to release in January 2024.
