Mysterious Disappearances is a supernatural mystery series that announced the release of its anime production, and further information will be revealed sometime soon.
The official announcement was made on January 11th, on the newly created Twitter account of Mystery, Maiden and Spirited Away (@TotokamiPR), and the official website for the series was also created.
The announcement also came with a key visual, a Promotional Video teaser, and a special raffle where ten lucky people will win the commemorative poster that will be displayed in bookstores.
The series has yet to reveal any new information regarding the animation studio, character voices, and the staff working on the series.

The key visual featured the two main characters, Sumireo Ogawa, a beautiful aspiring novelist, and Ren Adashino, a supernatural boy who is full of mysteries standing in the middle of a road with plenty of signs around them.
Nujima Sensei also released a special key visual to commemorate the release of the anime adaptation with his heartfelt comments:
He mentions that this anime adaptation is a result of sneaking his creation from the eyes of many sensible adults and that he is incredibly lucky that more people will get to see it.
He also thanked his personal editor, Mr. K, who devoted himself to this and to every one of his fans who enjoyed reading his work.
Mysterious Disappearances Teaser Preview
The promotion video was somewhat strange, to say the least, we didn’t get to see most of the animation either, only some short clips of the real world.
And then we did see some visual images of what I pressure were manga panels with slight animation; however, the teaser did give a hint of what to expect from the series and we will eventually receive more info.
The plot of Mysterious Disappearances
The actual summary of the series is somewhat strange to describe in a straight way, the series is about small friendships, parting ways, and strange occurrences, and as the editor Mr. K. describes it, there are lots of monsters that appear in the first chapter and lots of beautiful girls one after another so please don’t miss out on it.
There are lots of mysterious incidents that happen throughout the city, strange monsters appear and lots of other weird things occur.
About the Series
Mysterious Disappearances or rather Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nujima, the series first began its serialization on October 2019 on Shogakukan’s Spirits website.
The manga series currently has 5 volumes available, the first volume was released on April 10th, 2020 and the fifth volume came out this January 12th, 2023.
