Ten years have passed since the end of Bakumatsu, the era of great rebellion against the Tokugawa shogunate. The new age of Meiji has come, and the peace the rebels long for should have been achieved. Alas, the new people rising in power is busy filling their pocket with money.

Even though there is a law against holding an arm in broad daylight, the street murder act is still an often occurrence. This doesn’t help that one wandering samurai is going around with his sword in the scabbard.

Unknown to others, this wandering samurai, Rurouni Kenshin, is the most fearsome rebellion fighter who slashes countless enemies. He believes that what he did in the war is a necessary sacrifice yet he also understands that the blood in his hand can’t be washed off. So, he wanders around trying to atone for his sin.
