‘Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture’ Anime Unveils Additional 14 Cast Members

The official website for the forthcoming four-part anime Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, originally titled Code Geass: Z of the Recapture, recently unveiled its first key visual and introduced 14 additional cast members.

Among the newly announced cast of Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture are Takaya Kuroda as Kensei Kuroto, Katsuyuki Konishi as Isao Monobe, Miyu Tomita as Haruka Rutaka, and Shōya Chiba as Tomo’omi Oda, to name a few. The reveal also included three Knightmare Frame mechas set to appear in the series: Type-07T Keisetsu, Type-07 Sekka, and Type-05C Akatsuki-Upgrade.

Previously disclosed cast members include Kōhei Amasaki as Rozé, Makoto Furukawa as Ash, and Reina Ueda as Sakuya, among others. The anime is slated to premiere its first part in Japan on May 10, with subsequent parts following on June 7, July 5, and August 2, respectively. It will also exclusively stream worldwide on Disney+’s “Star” brand starting late June.

Yoshimitsu Ohashi directs the series, with Noboru Kimura handling the scripts and character designs by Takahiro Kimura and Shuichi Shimamura, based on original designs by CLAMP. The music is composed by Kenji Kawai, while Satoshi Shigeta oversees mechanical design and animation direction. Other key staff members include Kazuhiro Obata as art director, Ami Kutsuna and Yuichi Kuboki for color design, and Jin Aketagawa as sound director.

The opening theme “Running In My Head” is performed by MIYAVI, with Hikari Mitsushima delivering the ending theme “Roze (Prod.Teddyloid).” The “Code Geass” franchise, which premiered on television in 2006, has spawned various manga adaptations, original video animations, and film compilations. Producer Kōjirō Taniguchi has hinted at a long-term content strategy for the franchise, suggesting a “phase 1” of a 10-year plan as of April 2019.
