Kitarou Tanjou: GeGeGe no Nazo Movie Key Visual
The Key Visual looks mortifying. Especially since Kitarou can be seen peering through what appear to be unravelling bandages while holding them in his fingers in the dismal and dark image.
The tagline in the teaser image (above) reads: “What kind of thing are you?” and shows Kitaro peeping beneath a covering of bandages. Furthermore, The movie investigates the enigmas surrounding Kitaro’s birth and is based on the sixth GeGeGe no Kitaro TV anime.
Honouring Shigeru Mizuki
Mizuki, who passed away in 2015 at the age of 93 from heart failure, would have turned 100 on March 8th, 2022. The mangaka was a well-known historian, especially on his own experiences in World War II.
He was also regarded as an authority on Ykai, or traditional Japanese ghosts and monsters. Furthermore, the popularity of his GeGeGe no Kitar manga series and the ensuing anime series (plural) based on them is understandable.
The movie is one of four “big projects” honouring Shigeru Mizuki’s birth 100 years ago. In 2015, Mizuki, who was 93 years old, passed away. Furthermore, A new Akuma Kun animation that will debut on Netflix this autumn is another undertaking.
The sixth television anime iteration of the most recent GeGeGe no Kitar anime. Which debuted in April 2018, and took Dragon Ball Super’s position in that time slot. Moreover, The 97-episode season of the programme came to a close in March 2020. The show was streamed live via Crunchyroll.
Gou Koga, a director at Toei Animation, is helming the film, and Hiroyuki Yoshino is penning the screenplay. Touko Yatabe, who worked on Evangelion: The Movie as an associate director, is developing the characters. Moreover, Thrice Upon a Time and GeGeGe no Kitar’s third closing sequence unit were directed.
GeGeGe no Kitaro‘s most recent adaptation is streamed on Crunchyroll and the story of the anime is as follows:
“Nearly twenty years into the 21st century, people have forgotten the existence of Yokai. When a number of unexplainable phenomena plague adults of the human world with confusion and chaos, Moreover thirteen-year-old Mana writes a letter to the Yokai Post in search of answers, only to be greeted by Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro.“
