The trailer was released on April 7, 2023. Based on the PV, this season will cover the Fallen Heroes Arc. With his fellow heroes gone missing after the Spirit Giant Tortoise raid, Naofumi is trying to drag the troublemaker into doing their job as heroes.
Not only that, but they also want to bring the demi-human slave back to their village. It seems they track Raphtalia’s friend to some kind of colosseum. Judging from the PV, the anime will cover three volumes, 10-12 volumes, of the light novel.

Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic otaku who spends his days on games and manga, suddenly finds himself summoned to a parallel universe!
He discovers he is one of four heroes equipped with legendary weapons and tasked with saving the world from its prophesied destruction.
As the Shield Hero, the weakest of the heroes, all is not as it seems. Naofumi is soon alone, penniless, and betrayed. With no one to turn to, and nowhere to run, he is left with only his shield.
