Two months have passed since the atelier series fans had a big announcement. The first game of Atelier Ryza will have its own animation!
The announcement was first made at Atelier’s 25th Anniversary in March 2023. It already mentioned that the anime will premiere somewhere in the summer of 2023. Yet the exact schedule is still TBA.
Now, the PV for the anime adaptation has been released. What information can we get from it?

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout Key Promotional Video
The PV was released on May 13, 2023. Compared to the real first game trailer, the anime PV doesn’t include the real conflict within the series which is good for people who haven’t played Atelier Ryza.
We are provided with a background of the story which is a group of teenagers who want to have an adventure beyond their small island.
Aside from that, we have two additional pieces of information from the PV. The first thing is Sangatsu no Phantasia (A Couple of Cuckoos ED, Re: Creators ED) will provide the opening song “Golden Ray”.
The second and most important information is the broadcast schedule of Atelier Ryza. It is confirmed that the series will premiere on July 1, 2023.
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout Key Key Visual
The visual teaser was released at the same time as the PV. It is the first visual key that has been released so far. Shitaya (Shokugeki no Souma) is the one who designs those characters.
We can see four main characters of the series Reisalin “Ryza Stout, Klaudia Valentz, Lent Marslink, and Tao Mongarten. They seem to be on a journey toward the Holy Tower of Pynnor.
Just like the PV, it also mentions the broadcast schedule. As well as the various channel that will broadcast this series.
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout Cast and Staff
The cast’s announcement was released on the Atelier 25th Anniversary Program. They stated that the VA from the game will reprise their respective role. They are:
- Noguchi Yuri as Reisalin Stout
- Oowada Hitomi as Klaudia Valentz
- Terashima Takuma as Lent Marslink
- Kondou Yui as Tao Mongarten
- Nojima Hirofumi as Empel Vollmer
- Terui Haruka as Lila Decyrus
Ema Yuzuriha is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS (Tokyo Revengers, Goblin Slayer), and the script will be done by the original game writer, Yashichiro Takahashi (K series, Shakugan no Shana).
Tomoyuki Shitaya (Shokugeki no Soma) is in charge of designing the character, while Kazuki Yanagawa will return from the game to work on the music (Atelier Escha & Logy).
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout Key Story
Reisalin “Ryza” Stout is a girl living on Kurgel island who wants to have an adventure. One day, she sneaks into the ship which travels to the mainland along with her friends, Lent Marslink and Tao Mongarten.
After successfully stepping into the mainland, they, by chance, meet Klaudia Valentz, the daughter of a merchant. Unfortunately, they are ambushed by monsters along the way.
Luckily, they are rescued by the alchemist Empel Vollmer and his bodyguard Lila Decyrus. Looking at their savior, Ryza, Lent, and Tao beg to accept them as apprentices.
Empel begins to teach Ryza about alchemy and help Tao with his study. Meanwhile, Lent begins his combat training with Lila.
After they improve their skills, they decide to root their base operation at the abandoned cottage on the mainland which later becomes Ryza’s atelier.
