The previous year brought all kinds of surprises, and one of the biggest was the new sports hit, Blue Lock. Both Football and anime fans have been waiting for this anime for a long time because, until now, there hasn’t been a major series about this sport.
The first season was more than successful considering that it was among the top 10 most popular anime in Japan in December 2022.
Although the anime has not yet been renewed for a second season, the story is not over yet. After the end of Part 1 of the first season, Blue Lock Part 2 was announced, which will have its premiere already at the beginning of 2023.
Blue Lock Part 2 Release Date
Prior to Blue Lock’s premiere in October, Japanese outlet Comic Natalie announced that the anime will air in two consecutive courses with a total of 24 episodes in Season 1. This means that Blue Lock Season 1 will air in two consecutive three-month slates, starting in October 2022, until March 2023.
This has been reconfirmed by the official Blu-Ray DVD listings for Blue Lock Season 1. Four volumes with six anime episodes each are scheduled to be released in Japan in 2023.
The anime’s official website or social media pages have yet to announce a specific release date for Blue Lock Part 2. However, multiple planning houses are reporting a consensus opinion that Blue Lock Part 2 will premiere its 13th episode on Saturday, January 7th.
Blue Lock Season 2 Renewal?
As previously stated, Blue Lock has not yet been renewed for season 2. However, given the success of the first season, fans can still expect the anime to return for the new season.
Episode 24 is expected to adapt up to the 11th volume of the Blue Lock manga. So far, there are 22 volumes, which means that there will be enough material for season 2. In addition, the anime exceeded all expectations with its popularity and became the third best-rated work of studio 8bit.
With accomplishments like these, it’s only a matter of time before Blue Lock is renewed for a second season.
