Another series from Love Live! Sunshine!! school idol project will hit the screen in 2023. Instead of using the usual mold of a high school theme, they will make a spinoff revolving around one of the characters, Yohane, in a fantasy world.

The series was considered April Fools when the trailer came out on 1st April 2022 because Love Live! annual tradition. Yet, the confirmation came from the “Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours 6th Love Live! ~Ku-Ru-Ku-Ru Rock ‘n’ Roll Tour~ Windy Stage” concert at the Tokyo Dome venue. The concert was held on June 26, 2022.

On the same day, the official Twitter account was created revealing the visual teaser and PV. Through scraping the production status, the anime is expected to release in either summer or fall of 2023.

The story follows Yoshiko Tsushima, a chuunibyou school idol, as a fortune teller in another world. Just like the canon, the location is set in Numazu, a scenic port town.
Struggling to fit in since her younger days, she spends her days avoiding people. Searching for a place to fit in, Yohane starts the journey around the mysterious world.

Genjitsu no Yohane: Sunshine in the Mirror is based on a series of illustrations that began in 2020. The staff decided to release an April fools PV in 2022. Sure enough, fans only regarded it as a joke. Yet, the joke turns into an actual adaptation in two months.
The original cast of Love Live! Sunshine!! will reprise their character in Genjitsu no Yohane: Sunshine in the Mirror. The returning cast includes:
