To add a fifth title to the studio’s “Working Series” alongside Hanasaku Iroha, SHIROBAKO, Sakura Quest, and The Aquatope on white sand, P.A.WORKS has officially set a November 10 premiere date for the original anime film Komada – A Whisky Family.

Komada – A Whisky Family Teaser Image and Trailer
The second teaser image and a new promotional video for the upcoming original feature-length anime film Komada – A Whisky Family (Komada Jrysho e Ykoso, meaning “Welcome to the Komada Distillery”), as well as the movie’s November 10 debut date, were released on Wednesday by the animation studio P.A. Works.
Along with the teaser image the studio also revealed the character designs as well.
Komada – A Whisky Family Cast and Staff
The movie is being directed by Masayuki Yoshihara (The Eccentric Family, Mai no Mah to Katei no Hi) at P.A. Works. The screenplay is being written by Yukito Kizawa and Munemasa Nakamoto, who both contributed significantly to the scripts for the Monogatari series and the Sword Art Online franchise.
The original character design concepts were created by veteran P.A. Works key animator and inbetweener Tomomi Takada, and are now being animated by Kousuke Kawazura (The Eccentric Family), who is also the show’s principal animation director.
The soundtrack is composed by Tatsuya Kat. Producer credit goes to DMM. Distributing is GAGA Corporation. As for the Cast members it includes,

The Komada – A Whiskey Family is the sixth in P.A. Works’ “workplace” series about people and their jobs, following Hana-Saku Iroha, Shirobako, Sakura Quest, and The Aquatope on White Sand.
Hana-Saku Iroha, a 2010 work by P.A. Works that was centered around a hot spring inn, was the first in the “workplace” series. Shirobako, which had an emphasis on the animation business, came after in 2014.
A sequel to Shirobako was released in 2020. The 2017 anime series Sakura Quest was about girls working in small-town tourism. The Aquatope on the white sand made its premiere in 2021 and was dedicated to the aquarium industry.
Komada – A Whisky Family Plot
The official English-subtitled version of the first teaser trailer features the following story description:
“Kotaro, a novice editor for web news, visits Komada Distillery for a project on Japanese craft whisky. Led by a young female president Rui who recently took over the family business, the distillery works hard to reproduce its signature whisky KOMA they had to stop making years ago.
KOMA was a brand that Rui’s grandfather and father had lovingly preserved and a symbol of
happiness for all. However, not to mention financial backing, too many clues are missing to revive the whisky once lost. Rui, Kotaro, and the distillery supporters pull together every thread to bring back the whisky filled with family memories.”
