A new teaser trailer and a key image for the anime movie Mononoke were released on Friday, August 4, 2023. With that, the anime film announced its summer 2024 release date. The movie’s cast was also disclosed, along with the fact that Hiroshi Kamiya will play the role of the Medicine Seller, the movie’s main character.

The Ayakashi – Samurai Horror Tales anime is a subgenre of the Mononoke anime. It debuted in 2007 with 12 episodes and centers on the druggist from the Bakeneko arc of the anime. As a result, the next anime film is a continuation of the TV anime.

Mononoke The Movie Key Visual and Trailer

Originally scheduled for release this year, the anime movie Mononoke was postponed. However, the anime movie revealed its key image and teaser video, announcing that its release date is planned for the summer of 2024.

The Medicine Seller was seen in all his splendor in the primary image. In spite of this, Takahiro Sakurai won’t be playing the Medicine Seller as initially planned. Instead, the lead character will be voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya. Levi Ackerman from Attack on Titan, Edogawa Ranpo from Bungo Stray Dogs, and Seijr Akashi from Kuroko’s Basketball were all voiced by the same voice actor in the past.

Prior to its release, the anime movie revealed that Kenji Nakamura would be helming TWIN ENGINE’s Mononoke anime movie. Previously, the director worked with Toei Animation to produce television anime.

Takashi Hashimoto, the primary animation director, had previously created the character designs for the television anime. The music for the same was created by Yasuharu Takanashi in the meantime.
