Tokyo Anime Award Fest Has Open Public Voting

Tokyo Anime Award Festival is back for 2023 and the fans are ready to crown their favorite anime. On Tuesday, the public can begin voting for the category of Animation of the Year on the website of the 2023 Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF). Any anime that made its full or partial debut in Japan between 1st October 2021, and 30th September 2022, is eligible for voting.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the TAAF office jointly host the festival. The Anime Fan Award will be given to the voter with the most votes, and the top 10 votes will be used to choose the works and people who will get awards from the anime industry.

The festival also seeks to “collate and screen high-quality animated films of superior originality, provide excitement, and inspiration to the audience.” according to the anime festival website. Additionally, The Tokyo Award will be officially held from 10th – 13th March.

Tokyo Anime Award Festival

The Tokyo Anime Award Festival has been here for a while now. In 2002, the Tokyo Anime Awards debuted. But in 2005, it got its name for the first time. Above all, up until 2013, the award presentations took place during the Tokyo International Anime Fair.

The judges for the festivals come from a variety of organizations, including professors, universities, and employees of anime studios. However, Producers and chief editors of other periodicals are also included on this list.

Selection and Voting

The prominent animation producers of today and the Association of Japanese Animations members choose the best animations and figures for Animation of the Year. Furthermore, the organization for the animation series industry is primarily made up of Japanese animation companies.

Additionally, the most well-liked animation series production of the year is revealed and celebrated! So get ready, it’s time to crown your favourite anime.

Eligibility

To cast a vote, you need a Twitter account. However, A total of three titles can be voted on by each individual voter once. Moreover, the voting period will end on December 2, 2022. So, Hurry up and get on voting!

Tokyo Anime Award

Jujutsu Kaisen won the television category for works at the 2017 awards, and Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time took home the trophy in the animated feature category. Based on 278,332 fan votes, IDOLiSH7 Third Beat! won the festival’s Anime Fan award.

It’s been a really great year for Anime. We were blessed with back-to-back hits. I will vote for Spy x Family, I absolutely loved it. The plot, action scenes, the characters, the theme song everything was so unique and smashing.
