Anime that causes waifu wars will never die! For years, we have had an anime where one man tries to tie a knot with multiple women. Some of them make it big like Nisekoi and Quisential Quintuplets, and some of them turn out average.
Currently, it is time for the Amagami sisters to join the fray. The adaptation was announced back on April 21, 2023, at the same time as Naito’s birthday and 2nd year anniversary of the manga.
For those who feel this manga has a familiar vibe, Naito Marcey, the author, is a former assistant of Negi Haruba.The original creator of Quisential Quintuplets. That’s why, he is also almost using the same genre as his mentor; studying for college and sisters as lover prospect.
For now, there is good news coming from the official. It is confirmed that Tying the Knot With an Amagami Sister will premiere in 2024. Along with the announcement, the key visual for the anime was released.
It shows three sisters; (from left to right) Yae, Yuna, and Asahi, dressed as Miko. In the background, we can see the Amagami shrine where the story will take place. Unfortunately, there is still no information besides that key visual and staff. But, we can predict who will appear as VAs.
Staff and Cast
The list of staff has been announced on September 15, 2023. Yujiro Abe (KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!) is directing the anime at Drive, while Hiroshi Watanabe (Law of Ueki) is serving as assistant director.
Yasuko Aoki (Phantom of the Idol) is responsible for the series composition, and Haruko Iizuka (Horimiya, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale) is in charge of character design.
Unfortunately, the list of cast is still TBA. But, the manga already released a vomic (voiced comic) before. There, the protagonist, Uryu, is voiced by Sonosuke Hattori, and the heroines are all voiced by Miyu Tsuji.
Later, the manga released a PV commemorating the publication of the manga’s first volume. There, the VAs become diverse. Three different casts take the roles of the Amagami sisters. Ai Kayano as Yae, Sora Amamiya as Yuna, and Ayane Sakura as Asahi.
Yet, the list doesn’t stop there. The second PV for the manga dropped off on October 28, 2022. It has completely different VAs from before. There, the sisters are voiced by Reina Ueda, Rie Takahashi, and Ayana Taketatsu.
Sure, there is a case where the VAs from manga PV won’t appear in the anime. But, at least, a few of them will likely reprise their roles in the series. This also happens in this year’s waifu wars anime, The Cafe Terrace and Its Goddesses.
Amagami Sisters Story
Uryuu Kamihate is an orphan. Though his life is rough, he never stops chasing his dream, enrolling in medical school. But, all of his plan goes to smoke when he comes to the foster home.
There, he will live with three beautiful and gorgeous Amagami sisters who run the shrine. Moreover, he also learns that he has to choose one of them as a bride and take over the shrine!
