VIZ Manga App is Expanding Outside Canada and U.S.

VIZ Media’s manga app has recently expanded its reach to include the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, following its announcement last year regarding plans for global availability. Previously limited to Canada and the United States, this expansion marks a significant stride in making manga more accessible internationally. Moreover, on Tuesday, the company augmented its library by incorporating Marvel manga into the platform, broadening its offerings for readers.

In a report by ANN, Viz Media confirmed that the newly expanded regions would have access to simulpub content, along with the entire catalog already available in the North American version of the app. This encompasses a vast selection, boasting over 10,000 chapters from renowned publishers Shogakukan and Shueisha, ensuring a diverse array of titles catering to various interests.

Among the latest additions to the app are titles such as Deadpool: Samurai, Wolverine: Snikt!, Spider-Man: Fake Red, Marvel’s Secret Reverse, Spider-Man: Octo-Girl, and X-Men: The Manga: Remastered. These additions enhance the platform’s content diversity and appeal to fans of both traditional manga and Marvel’s superhero universe.

The collaboration between Viz Media and Marvel in 2022, aimed at reimagining iconic superheroes in a manga style, has also contributed to the app’s enriched content. Esteemed artists like Kazuki Takahashi have lent their talents to this venture, offering fresh perspectives on beloved characters.

The manga app officially launched on May 9, with a subscription fee of US$1.99 per month. It is worth noting that Viz Media maintains its separate Shonen Jump service, ensuring that fans have access to a wide range of manga content tailored to their preferences and interests.
