Yona of the Dawn Manga to Get Musical Adaptation in July

This fantastic news will make your day if you are a fan of the fantasy manga Yona of the Dawn by Mizuho Kusanagi. It is getting a musical adaptation after so long. The musical adaptation will be entertaining the viewers in Theater H, Tokyo. The exact date is yet to be revealed but we know it will be in July 2024.

In 2009 the manga started its release in one of the most popular magazines, Hakusensha’s Hanato Yumo. 2024 will be marking the 15 year anniversary of its original release. With 43 volumes released to date, the manga has a count of more than 14 million printed copies, and that is a lot. 

This musical will be directed by Tsuneyasu Motoyoshi. He is famous for his direction of the stage play My Hero Academia from 2019 to 2022. Tsuneyasu Motoyashi will direct the script written by Aoto Tani. Shinji Rachi will choreograph the musical composed by Masato Kamata.

Sadly, we do not yet have any insight into the cast members or other details, but that will be for another day. 

Plot:

The TV anime adaptation released on Crunchyroll describes the series in a mesmerizing way. The historical Hiryuu castle has only a fifteen-year fantasizing girl as its heir to the throne. The red-haired Yona follows her handsome cousin Soo Won around without knowing the harsh realities. However, on her 16th birthday, she visits her father and witnesses his murder by her beloved cousin. Her world and dreams shatter into pieces, and in the moment of despair, her childhood friend and bodyguard, Hak, appears to be her savior. The anime spans the story of their survival and finding their way back to Hiryuu Castle.
