Kenichi Matsuzawa, known for his work on “The Prince of Tennis” and “The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These,” is directing, while Tomoko Konparu, who worked on the scripts for the first two seasons, returns to oversee the series scripts, collaborating with Michiko Yokote. The renowned musicians of S.E.N.S. Project are also back to compose the music.

The manga follows the story of Sawako Kuronuma, nicknamed Sadako due to her resemblance to the character from “The Ring.” Her life takes a turn when she forms a deep connection with the popular Shōta Kazehaya, leading to a blossoming romance.

Netflix currently streams the first two seasons of the anime in Japanese with English subtitles, along with a newly dubbed English version.

“Kimi ni Todoke” originally debuted in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret shōjo magazine in 2006 and concluded in November 2017. The manga’s 30th and final compiled volume was published in March 2018. Shiina also penned the spinoff manga “Kimi ni Todoke Bangaihen: Unmei no Hito” in Bessatsu Margaret from April 2018 to May 2022.

With over 36 million copies sold in Japan (including digital copies), “Kimi ni Todoke” consistently ranks among the top-selling manga series. Viz Media handles the English publication, releasing the 30th volume in December 2018.
